Our holidays can be self-guided or led by a group leader.
Our Cultural Holidays packages include first-class accomodations at Hotel Mediteran in Ulcinj, and options for bed & breakfast or half-board meal plans. The tour is organized for groups of five to ten people, or more, but can also be organized for a couple, even a single traveler.
Best of all, your base camp for this great adventure is historic Ulcinj, one of the oldest settlements in the Adriatic - Ulcinj history is steeped in the culture of the Roman, Viennese, Turk, and pirate conquerors who have occupied Ulcinj at one time or another.
Sample Cultural-Historic Week's Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Montenegro, and transfer to Hotel Mediteran in Ulcinj. Dinner at Hotel Mediteran.
Day 2
Local visit to Stari Grad Ulcinj, one of the oldest cities in the Adriatic. Tour of the old city, the slave quarters, and walk through the old alleys and battlements. Dinner at Hotel Mediteran.
Day 3
Day trip to the 2,500 year-old town of Budva, and a tour of its shops, boutiques, and the town's fortifications, the "Budva Citadelle." Dinner at Hotel Mediteran.
Day 4
Tour to the old royal city of Cetinje, Cetinje Monastery, the former royal palace, and Lovcen National Park. Lunch at one of the Bohemian cafes of Cetinje, dinner at Hotel Mediteran. A hike to the lookout point on Mount Lovcen is a must-do part of any first-time visitor to Montenegro.
Day 5
Day trip to Shkodra, situated on Skadar Lake, just across the border in Albania. Founded in the 4th century BC, Shkodra was the site of Illyrian tribes and the capital of the kingdom of King Gentius, prior to being conquered by the Romans in 168 BC. A tour of legendary Rozafa's Castle (Rozafati) is a highlight of this trip.
Day 6
Tour of the port city of Bar, Montenegro's only major commercial port facility. A Visit to Star Grad Bar - the ancient fortress-city. Dinner at Hotel Mediteran.
Day 7
Checkout from Hotel Mediteran; transfer to Podgorica airport, or departure by bus or auto.
