Shopping as part of the visitor experience in Montenegro is bit unlike the shopping in other resort destinations. In Montenegro, there are few international retailers, chains, and franchised operations. Most retail shops are operated by Montenegrin companies, if not family members. Remember, the official currency is the Euro.
Ulitsa Skenderbeu (Ulcinj) - Ulcinj's "main Street" of cafe's, shops, daily errands, and nightlife. Ulitsa Skenderbeu stretches from from the center of Ulcinj, down to the beach promenade (Obala Borisa Kidrica). The street is accessible from Bulevar Marsala Tita, one of the primary roadways entering Ulcinj. Each week, a Market Day takes place in Ulcinj that brings a unique mix of country and town folk to the city's center for agricultural goods and basic needs.
Obala Borisa Kidrica - the "Korzo" - Ulcinj's beach promenade, , or the "Korzo" as it is called by locals, is a strip-like walkway lighting the small beach. At night during the summer months, young tourists walk past one another while bright lights decorate the street and live music invades their ear drums. It is said that some of the most beautiful girls in South Eastern Europe, visiting Ulcinj as tourists, can be found walking about the Korzo on a nightly basis. So-called Small Beach is the in-town community beach, and beachfront promenade in the heart of Ulcinj.
Stari Grad Ulcinj - The scenic old walled town of Ulcinj - known as Stari Grad Ulcinj or simply Stari Grad, was founded in the 5th century BC by the Colchinians. Before the Colchinians, the Illyrians, a people of Indo-European origin, were active in the Ulcinj-Bar "South Coast" region since prehistoric times.
Budva - A 2,500+ year-old town which was most prosperous in the time of the Venetian Republic. One of the important parts of the old town is Budva Citadelle - the Budva fortification. Now a popular tourist destination.
Cetinje - Cetinje is the old royal city and the former capital of Montenegro. The royal palace and other historical monuments, along with Cetinje's famous art academies and young people, make this a is rather a bohemian city. Cetinje is also a town full of interesting cafes where the group can have a range of refreshments.
Ada Bojana - the Ada Bojana (Ada Buna) area of the Ulcinj coast is a popular destination with international travelers to Montenegro, and perhaps most telling, among Montenegrins as well. Some of the most scenic portions of Velika Plaza (Long Beach) are here in Ada Bojana, which along with the daily fresh fish catch, attracts a multitude of beach-goers on any given day.
Stari Grad Bar - a historic spot of the town of Bar is the Old Bar Fortress, situated on a 4-hectare hilltop just four kilometers from the sea. This old "fortress town" was first mentioned in writings from the 9th Century when Mihajlo Vojislavljevic, the first King of Montenegro was crowned in Bar in 1077.
Podgorica - Montenegro's capital city offers some of the retail shops, boutiques, and services, typical to mid-sized European cities. However, the shopping here is very much oriented to the residents. As the economic hub of the country, retail here is also business serving, with many companies coming to Podgorica on a regular basis for their wholesale and retail needs. Delta City, opened in 2008, Montenegro's first modern shopping center, anchored by a cineplex, food court, and supermarket.
Shkodra (Albania) - Shkodra is one the most ancient cities in Albania, rich in history and culture. Shkodra was founded in the IV century B.C., the principal town of Illyrian tribe of Labeats and later on during the reign of King Gent the chief centre of the Illyrian state.
